In real life, insurance such as home insurance acts as a great and influential pillar. It protects the life, livelihood, and properties of people. However, have you ever checked or watch a movie that centers on insurance?

Without further ado, here are some of the classics which have a theme based around insurance:

The Apartment (1960)

This is an American romantic comedy film about C.C. Baxter, an insurance worker who owns an apartment but gives his bosses permission for them to use his place for extramarital affairs. Baxter got promoted; however, to his dismay, he found out that his boss uses his place for his mistress whom Baxter likes. Left with a choice, Baxter should choose between the girl he loves and his blooming career.

Why is it worth watching? The movie depicts the culture during that era. Individuality is signified through the insurance company. The setting of the story such as the insurance office and the way they arranged things suggests traditionalism.

This movie garnered several awards and recognitions such as winning the best picture, director, and screenplay on Oscars.

Cedar Rapids (2011)

Lippe (Ed Helms) starred in this comedy film about a naive life insurance agent. He never tried a lot of things in his life including flying on a plane and even leaving his hometown. He was picked by his boss to represent on a convention out of town where he met three veteran agents who tried to shake his work principles but failed.

Why is it worth watching? This movie does not only entertain viewers, but it also gives a positive answer to most questions being thrown to insurance companies such as “Is there an insurance agent who is honest and trustworthy nowadays?” Lippe survives the temptation and ended the movie on a happy note.

The Rainmaker (1997)

The Rainmaker is a legal drama film based on the novel by John Grisham in 1995. Rudy Baylor works with a disputable lawyer, where he also comes across a paralegal named Deck Shifflet. Baylor and Shifflet worked together upon battling with a corrupt insurance company that declines Dot Black coverage for her son’s disease.

Why is it worth watching? It shows the reality of today’s world. The movie shows the hidden layers of deceitfulness, pride, and greed behind an unknown insurance company. In the movie, it is clearly represented in the life of a person whose life is ruined by a mysterious insurance contract.

The Incredibles (2004)

This Disney/Pixar animation movie is about a couple who used to be world-saving heroes. They were forced to live a normal, unusual life for them when the government banned their superpower activities. Due to that, Bob (who’s the husband) works at Insuricare where he helps people with their insurance issues.

Why is it worth to watch?  The movie obviously represents one important aspect of insurance: security. Bob was encouraged by his wife, Helen, to rescue the world, one policy at a time. Although he is not an insurance agent anymore, he still offers insurance but in his superhero way.
