This Billy Wilder movie brought us the first pairing of Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau. Lemmon plays Harry Hinkle, a TV cameraman that is injured while taping a football game. Lemmon's brother-in-law William "Whiplash Willy" Gingrich (Matthau) sees an angle. Matthau's wonderful performance won him an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. Ron Rich does a good job playing "Boom Boom Jackson", the football player who feels guilty for injuring Hinkle. The screenplay is pure Billy Wilder/I.A.L. Diamond, the two collaborated on many great scripts including SOME LIKE IT HOT and THE APARTMENT. Check Back Soon for More...
